Kollywood actress Lakshmi Rai is a friendship with Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Well, Indian cricket team’s good show at the ongoing Test match against England at Chepauk alone is not making it to the headlines - even hotter than this is the news about the meeting between famous Kollywood actress Lakshmi Rai and Indian team’s captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni!

While many are blowing this out of proportion, the beautiful actress who rose to prominence with her stellar performance in Dhaam Dhoom, has announced that it was nothing more than a meeting between two good friends. She also explained how she struck a friendship with the star wicket-keeper-batsman. When Lakshmi Rai celebrated her birthday this year in a five-star hotel, she found out that few cricketers playing in IPL, including her favourite Dhoni, were staying in it. Immediately the serious cricket fan in her took over and she could not resist the idea of inviting these cricketers for her birthday party, which was also attended by Namitha, Simbu, Jayam Ravi, Nila, Arya and Srikanth. She was thoroughly surprised by Dhoni’s simplicity despite having achieved so much at such a young age. This added to the respect she had for the cricketer and a mutual friendship bloomed.

The beautiful actress brushed off the talks about a blooming romantic relationship between her and Dhoni as rubbish.
